Meet Sarah
Sarah O’Brien is a Vedic meditation teacher, birth doula, and former human rights lawyer based in Melbourne.
For over a decade, Sarah has studied Vedic wisdom steeped in Vedanta, Ayurveda and meditation with teachers, masters, and custodians in Australia and India. She has taught Vedic meditation full-time for 7 years, led advanced knowledge programs, and guided retreats and pilgrimages through India’s sacred sites. She currently lives in Melbourne supporting people online and in person.
Her work is grounded in the belief that Vedic wisdom is not separate from life, but a way of living more deeply within it. Through meditation, mentoring, retreats, and women’s spaces, Sarah shares practical, seasonal wisdom that helps people feel steadier, more supported, and more connected to the intelligence moving through their lives.
Sarah is also a founding member of Mahasoma Meditation Collective, a feminine-led community sharing Vedic wisdom, embodiment practices, and heart-led leadership.
Alongside her meditation work, Sarah is a birth doula trained in traditional midwifery and birth practices, with teachers from Mexico, the Andes, Guatemala, and India. This training deeply informs the way she holds women through change, transition, birth, and becoming.
At the heart of Sarah’s work is a devotion to the Divine Mother. She teaches this wisdom for all women, families, and all those who are learning how to feel deeply held by life, and to embody that love in the way they live, lead, create, and care.
